Summon Night: Twin Age | More like Disappoint Night.

So recently I just realized I had other Summon Night games in my computer. Yeah, the Swordcraft 1&2 NDS remake and the Summon Night: Twin Age. Since the 1&2 remake doesn't appeal to me as much (GBA oldschools will always be the best, period), I decided to play Twin Age.

It's pretty disappointing 。◕ ‿ ◕。

So basically in this game you can choose to play either Reiha (Fem!Protag) or Aldo (Male!Protag). Their names are changeable as usual. I don't think it matters which one you choose, you'll get to play as both in the end anyway. Indeed, it's the Partner System!

I played as Reiha. Aldo is basically Reiha's Summon Beast (idk why ATLUS changed its usual translation 'Summon Creature' like the ones in swordcraft but maybe they ARE different in the games. I still don't get it, Flight-Plan.) who got summoned when Reiha's power got out of control when she was still a loli.

Yeah basically this game is really easy?? like, you really don't have to put out effort. And that's my biggest issue with this game, really. Unlike the Swordcraft games where you actually put out effort beating bosses, this one's easy as pie (◡‿◡✿)

The game's basically about the world in which the spirits are the ones who control everything (wind, water and stuff) and Reiha and Aldo lives here. Apparently when they're going to get their Coming of Age ceremony, the spirits suddenly gone wild and it's up to them to find out why it's happening!

So this game's got a similar fighting system as Ragnarok Online. The dungeon exploration's pretty dull and it's really boring (plus it's very easy to find the way out and even though it's mobby, you really just don't die. Moreover because "when a party member dies, they will resurrect soon after." bullshit)

Those rectangular things are like your skill tab; since this game uses full-on touchscreen controls (gee, sounds like painful. It is.) and you had to tap a skill, and then tap the target (heals and buffs works on party members, whilst debuffs and magic (like those colorful stuff on the upper area of the tabs) works on the enemies. You also put items in this tabs. It's really painful to deal with so most of the time I just p.attack and skill only when it's mobby.

So yeah you can fight as your partner (Aldo in this case) by tapping that rectangle with Reiha's pixel face in it (upper right screen). So not only setting up Reiha's tab, you'll have to set Aldo's, too! And you can change the AIs of your non-human partners (like Tales of The World) like if you want them to just cast support or something.

Reiha is essentially the mahotsukai and she's got bad STR but really rad magic skills holla.

See that fire wall over there? It burns the area and although it vanishes over time, it deals LOTS of damages nonstop. Like 4 real.

Also you could have 2 party members at a time I guess so it's Reiha, Aldo (the yuusha), and one other person. You can't remove Reiha and Aldo from the main party ofc 'caz that'd defeat the purpose of being the main character of course.
In this game you have skill trees and you gotta get some skill points to go with it. At first you'll be given 190 (I think? I forgot) for Reiha (and hell man it can actually take most of the skills if your level's high enough) and 160 for Aldo.

You'll also be given a novice Axe, Spear, and Knife for Aldo--that means a wand for Reiha, too. Also those 50 pots and hella summon monsters you could summon as a temporary partner in your fights.

Really with all these things given for dirt cheap (free even), I'd think this game was made for little kids. Like seven or six years old or something. Requires no effort and only little story/dialogues = not my game man. I haven't finished playing the game yet but I wrote this cuz I need to rage really.

Basically save points are everywhere so yeah don't ever worry about losing your saves 'caz if you're careful enough you wont really.

The system's pretty simple and you'll be given a (simple) tutorial as well so I'd imagine if you're over 12 you'd get this game as soon as you played it.

The up's for this game is in its great sprites, pixels and character designs? like dayummm the heroine is rly pretty. Also like other Flight-Plan's games, the characters are as interesting a hella lot.

Aldo is a real cutie really--Reiha thought of him as a little brother but I really think he likes Reiha much more than that??? He's also very dere and said stuff like "please don't hide your sadness" and stuff to Reiha during talks and it made me go (✿◠‿◠) キュウーン!〜 I haven't finished the game so I can't say much and idk if it'll get better in the later games but here's a few reviews:
GameSpot rated Summon Night: Twin Age 7/10 and praised the "simple, but charming gameplay and the cute presentation", but stated that "there are a few AI and targeting issues", and that "exploration can get monotonous".
IGN rated it 8.2/10, praising the "beautiful art, strong effect, deep customization aspects, and a slick overall interface".
IGN also stated that while "the touch control is simple, it is varied with spells, skills, and attacks", and that "the monster battle system, skill trees, item creation/upgrading, and general flow of the game are all well designed". IGN states that while "the soundtrack is simple, it is effective".
Cheatcodecentral rated it 3.9/5, praising the controls and play value.
By the way that was copied off of Wikipedia.

The biggest issue I got with this game is the hella easy overall game??? I THINK IT BELONGS TO CERO A since this is probably targeted to tweens (like ten or nine. or six. years old or something) and yeah those stuff. I don't think I'd ever finish since the plot just doesn't convince me to play really.

If I got stuff out of my backlog (which is pretty much nothing) maybe I'll try playing this game again, if not for the kicks.

Also during this night talk Aldo said stuff about the 'charm' Reiha used when he couldn't fall asleep. He said Reiha used to stroke his hair whilst singing to him and Reiha gets flustered and she's just "WHAaaaaaaaat  okay im.. suddenly asleep! yeah!! so *yaaaaaawn* l-let's sleep!" and it's just the cutest thing ever gdi.
